Elizabeth Dansie is CEO and founding partner of the Public Safety Family Counseling Group, Inc. located in Brentwood, California. She has provided a variety of psychological support and response services to numerous law enforcement and fire agencies in the Bay Area since 1989. Beth holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from St. Mary’s College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from San Francisco State University.

Beth teaches Critical Incident Stress Management courses in multiple subjects as a certified trainer with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, a United Nations Chartered organization whose focus is providing education and services to trauma responders worldwide. Elizabeth is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in Critical Incident Trauma and Stress Management and has presented at regional, state, and national levels on subjects regarding First Responder Resiliency, Critical Incident Stress Management, Peer Support, Line of Duty Death, among many other topics. She authored the “Kevlar for the Mind” program and has taught this course at the state and national level.

Beth has served as an organizational consultant and crisis responder to many First Responder agencies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as to the California Highway Patrol and U.S. Custom’s and Border Protection. Beth has responded to several hundred critical incidents involving emergency services professionals and their agencies. In addition, over the course of her 35 years of practice, she has provided thousands of hours of counseling and support services to emergency services personnel and their family members.

Her services were also used during the Loma Prieta and Northridge Earthquakes, the Concord Waterslide Collapse, and the World Trade Center attacks of 2001. She is an expert in Law Enforcement Line of Duty Death response protocols, Law Enforcement Suicide and served on the P.O.S.T. committee working to establish a state-wide response protocol for such events. She continues to consult on current issues of concern within the law enforcement community.

Beth’s career has been driven by a deep respect and appreciation for the sacrifice made by our community’s protectors. This is rooted in her life experience as the daughter, sister, wife, mother, and mother-in-law of police officers. These experiences have translated into a decades long dedication to establishing and supporting Peer Support Programs and holistic wellness among our First Responder community. Beth maintains that the greatest satisfaction in this work remains the association with our remarkable team of peers who have dedicated so much heart to these programs.
