Cindy Chien works as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #140438) for the Public Safety Family Counseling Group, Inc under the supervision of Elisa Hughes (LMFT #84286). Cindy received her Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of San Francisco. Cindy specializes in couples therapy and relational intelligence. She leverages goal-focused counseling, scientifically proven methods, and tool-based approaches to support the needs and preferences of clients.

Cindy employs approaches developed by top couples and family therapy researchers, attending several trainings a year to stay current with the latest developments. She is a trauma-informed clinician trained in EMDR and Brainspotting. She is certified in Assisting Individuals in Crisis and Group Crisis Intervention through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation.

She has a background in international relations and human resources, punctuated by brief stints in product management and finance. Her efforts had built a multilateral relational bridge for engineering research exchange and promoted entrepreneurial education between UC Berkeley and Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, which continue to be relevant today. Married with one child, she renews herself through spending time with nature.
